We are mapping private and public sector partners' preparedness projects through the Pacific Rim. Currently we are focused on Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, and Thailand.
Our maps help show which countries' key risks are right alongside where preparedness projects are operating. For example we can zoom into the Philippines and see storm intensity wind speeds and overlay historical data from the past 20 years for flooding. We can then see that in Manila companies like Western Union have partnered with The Philippine National Red Cross to invest in Disaster Response training.
We have opened more than 15 datasets on the Pacific Rim as a contribution to improve planning and evaluations of preparedness interventions. Data can be downloaded in raw formats or embedded as maps.
